Future plans of the LG cell phone department

If you have a business that produces cell phones you have to constantly be innovating or you will be left behind. This is whey LG have put huge amounts of resources into developing new technology. By looking at what they are working on you can get a good idea of what is coming down the pike when it comes to the next generation of cell phones.

The most obvious future plans for the LG cell phone department is the further development of smart phones. They have already entered this market of course but there is still lots of room for developing new capabilities in this regard. This is likely where the future of the company will lie as more and more people start to switch over to the smart phone it will in all likelihood eventually replace the traditional cell phone for most users. Therefore it is important that LG be at the leading edge in this regard.

The other big area where there is a lot of working being done is on improving the user interface of the phones. There are a lot of ways that this can be done but it would appear that the most likely way this is going to happen is through the use of an improved touch screen. The day is coming when there will be no buttons on the phone itself as everything will be done on the touch screen. This will take some improvement in quality of the touch screens so there is a lot of work under way geared towards making this happen.

One of the things that happen in the future is that the touch screen may be replaced altogether by a means of using the phone that will be easier to use. There are various theories on how this should work ranging from changing the angle of the phone to making the phone flexible so that you can twist it. The idea is that it will be easier to use the phone if you don't have to use a touch screen. Like all cell phone makers this is an area that LG is working on although it is not clear which technology will ultimately win out.

In the more immediate future the goal of LG is to make their phones more stylish. The hope is that if they can do this they will be better able to compete in the higher end of the market. At the current time the company has a reputation for producing high quality cell phones but not ones that can compete at the top of the market. The belief is that the reason for this is that the phones are not currently stylish enough. Therefore a lot of work has gone into developing a new generation of phones that are sleek and stylish.
